Bamba Box was created by Ryan Hamner, who wanted every box to carry the excitement and anticipation of something good—especially for someone walking through a difficult season.

The longer answer is that each Bamba Box is thoughtfully curated based on age, interests, and the type of box selected.

Our children’s boxes typically include one popular name-brand centerpiece item along with 7 - 10 smaller surprises, which may include: an age-appropriate book, games or puzzles, crafts or toys, fun activities and playful extras, and, of course, the parachute man.

And, we always include access to the Secret Page here on the website and one FREE session with Code Ninjas. For more information, visit our Favorites Page.

Our adult boxes may include books such as Ryan’s award-winning memoir, This Is Remission,‍ The Enemy Inside Me, or Gathered Fragments, along with carefully selected comfort items for men and women.

Depending on the box selected, items may include: hand-rolled beeswax candles, handmade natural soaps, shaving soap, mini heart-shaped lotion bars, select teas or coffee, and other thoughtful surprises.

Every Bamba Box is part of the “gift of mystery,” as Ryan called it. Contents may vary based on availability, but each box is created with care, encouragement, and the hope of bringing a smile to someone’s day.

You are welcome to share favorite interests, hobbies, themes, colors, or item suggestions, and we will do our best to include them in your Bamba Box whenever possible.

Because some specialty items may require additional sourcing, inclusion will depend on availability from our vendors and may occasionally increase fulfillment time beyond our typical 24–48 hours.

Bamba Box was created by Ryan Hamner, who courageously battled cancer four times. When he designed these boxes for children, he understood firsthand what kids need when they are going through treatment, recovering, or simply facing a difficult season.

That is why Bamba Box is designed to be more than just a gift box—it is an experience filled with encouragement, surprise, and connection.

Every Bamba Box for children and teens includes access to our Secret Page, a special “members only” area of the website created just for recipients. There, they can enjoy welcome videos from Ryan and Brandi, entertaining content, quizzes, and FREE downloads of some of Ryan’s music.

Each children’s box also includes one FREE session to Code Ninjas, which can be accessed from anywhere in the United States.

In addition, children receiving treatment or recovering from illness may also receive an earned medal from our partner, Medals4Mettle—a meaningful symbol of encouragement donated by athletes from across the country.

And for caregivers and adults, every Bamba Box is thoughtfully curated to bring comfort, encouragement, and a reason to smile.

Thanks to generous donors, community partners, and sponsors, we are sometimes able to provide free Bamba Boxes to children and families going through difficult seasons.

Free boxes may be available for children who are:

• undergoing medical treatment

• recovering from surgery or illness

• staying in hospitals or care facilities

• facing other challenging circumstances

Some boxes are distributed directly through our partner organizations, hospitals, clinics, and programs across the country.
